Lovingly restored, pet friendly cottage located by the church in the picturesque village of Upper Largo.
Kirkside Cottage is located in the historic village of Upper Largo in the picturesque East Neuk of Fife, 10 miles from the historic town of St Andrews famed for its golf and university.
The cottage is a single storey bungalow and all rooms are on the same floor with no internal steps. It is finished in a modern contemporary style featuring all the equipment you will need for a comfortable holiday. It is nestled in next to the historic Parish Church with views to Largo Law (the areas prominent hill) to the rear of the property. Bring your walking boots and climb the Law, the views are spectacular from the top, if you make it!
Close by is the historic Largo House (now sadly a ruin), once occupied by Sir Andrew Wood, famed for seeing off English raiders in the Firth of Forth during the reign of James IV. Walk up the hill out of the village, past the school and cemetery and look back to the fields behind the house to see if you can trace the canal Sir Andrew built to allow him to sail to church on a Sunday.
The village of Upper Largo has a small shop selling basic essentials as well as the popular and hospitable Upper Largo Hotel, which serves great value meals at lunch and dinner 7 days a week. Both the shop and hotel are within a 2 minute walk of the cottage.
