We are a small family-run B&B in a quiet location at the edge of town, just a 20 minute walk along the seafront to the centre of Kirkwall.
We have 1 double and 1 twin/king en-suite rooms with tea/coffee making facilities, TV and hairdryers. Also we offer free wi-fi and private parking. We provide a continental breakfast and will endeavour to cater for any other dietary requirements to ensure you really enjoy your stay with us.
This is a good base in Orkney's capital Kirkwall, to take in the many attractions Orkney has to offer, including World Heritage Sites such as Skara Brae, Maeshowe, Ring of Brodgar to name a few. For the outdoor types, there is plenty of lochs to fish on, bird watching and lots of local walking routes.
There are good restaurants, warm and inviting bars, and quirky cafes throughout Orkney as well as arts and crafts establishments (including the Craft Trail http://www.orkneydesignercrafts.com/craft-trail/), a leisure centre with fitness suite, cinema and swimming pool (http://www.pickaquoy.co.uk/) and a high street full of charm and real shopping gems.
Kirkwall has an abundance of independent retailers selling local produce, so you can sample all of the delicacies that Orkney boasts. Visit Orkney Food & Drink website for some ideas: http://www.orkneyfoodanddrink.com/
We are very convenient for ferries to the North Isles, and have flexible check in/out times to accommodate travellers on the late ferries from Aberdeen and Shetland. Kirkwall travel centre is located 10 minutes walk away which operates many regular bus routes to all areas of Orkney to help you explore fully the attractions of the 'Egypt of the North'.
