Private Luxury ~ Shared Experience.
Private room rental with shared self-catering facilities for groups of 2-20 on the Knoydart Peninsula - join us for a unique holiday experience at Knoydart Lodge! With five modern, en-suite bedrooms the Lodge is the perfect venue for all ranges of groups – from couples looking for a romantic getaway to groups of up to 20 outdoor enthusiasts off to bag the munros. Knoydart Lodge offers the perfect balance of private and communal accommodation. By renting a private room and sharing the living spaces, our guests experience the luxury living of a self-catering Highland lodge without the price tag.
Built in 2008 on the grounds of the greenhouse in the old Knoydart Estate market garden, Knoydart Lodge ran for many years as Bed & Breakfast until 2017 when we decided to offer something a bit different to our guests. The Lodge features five spacious rooms each with their own en-suite wet room. The four ground floor rooms have their own private access via the south facing patio, and our first floor room is hidden within the eaves and exclusively for two. The open plan kitchen, living and dining spaces feature high vaulted ceilings, panoramic views and a wood burning stove. A spiral staircase leads to a balcony hidden within the beautiful exposed timber roof – the perfect spot for some quiet time reading a book. Our rooms can accommodate groups of two up to six, with larger groups taking multiple rooms. Our room for six also features its own kitchen facilities and breakfast bar.
THE KNOYDART PENINSULA
The Lodge is situated on the stunning Knoydart Peninsula, on the West Coast of the Scottish Highlands. Accessible only by ferry from Mallaig or a 2-3 day walk in over the hills, Knoydart is regarded by many as one of the last great wilderness areas in Great Britain. A haven for hill walkers, outdoor enthusiasts, artists, photographers and explorers, you are sure to find plenty to keep you occupied while visiting us.
Knoydart has around 130 full time residents, with most residing in or around Inverie Bay. Inverie village holds our local amenities including shops, pub, tearoom, post office, information point, village hall and primary school. There are a range of fantastic restaurants across the peninsula, along with activities and must-see sights. The majority of the land on Knoydart is community owned, and managed through the Knoydart Foundation. For more info on this beautiful part of Scotland, have a look at the Visit Knoydart website www.visitknoydart.co.uk
Standard rates begin at only £30 per person per night, and with this you can enjoy your own private bedroom with en-suite, fresh linens and towels as standard, plus a few extra treats including basic toiletries, hairdryer, and tea/coffee. We are pet friendly and also offer optional transport services including pick up and drop off at Inverie pier. We are located approximately 10-15 minute walk from the Inverie pier/village, and a stone’s throw from Long Beach where you can take in the stunning landscape and sunsets Knoydart has to offer.
