This unique and unusual house has a truly spectacular position in Glen Coe, standing quite alone on the hillside, where, from both the sitting room and deck, you have wonderful views of the glen and mountains, right round to the sea. As one guest said, ‘One of the best views in the UK!’
On three levels the house is surrounded by over an acre of its own sloping grass garden where deer, squirrels, pine martens and many kinds of birds are frequent visitors. This area is beloved of walkers, climbers, and mountain bikers, (and skiers in winter) and one of the joys of Laraichean is that you can walk straight out into the hills. And there are no less than 42 Munros within easy driving distance of the cottage!
It is also a splendid centre for touring. You can stroll through the woods to Glencoe village (shop/PO, hotel) or, in the other direction, the famous Clachaig Inn is 1.5 miles away. Major shopping can be done at Fort William (16m).
