Larch Cabin provides a rural escape for nature lovers, outdoor enthusiasts or those seeking peace and quiet amongst the stunning Ochil Hills whilst still being conveniently located for Dollar village and Gleneagles.
Self-contained with open-plan living and sleeping space, Larch Cabin has been lovingly restored with sustainability at heart: heated exclusively by wood-burning stove fed with logs from our woodland, powered by renewable electricity and with water solely supplied via a private natural spring. Extensive insulation ensures snug winters and cool summers, however, water bottles and extra blankets are provided for the chilliest of Scottish nights and guests are encouraged to bring their own slippers to cosy in.
The wood-burning stove includes integrated pizza shelf and top oven for cooking jacket potatoes or stews whilst a modern kitchenette with electric ceramic hob and fridge freezer gives the best of both worlds. Complete with a range of full cooking utensils and serving ware including stovetop espresso maker along with complimentary coffee from our local local coffee roaster.
The ensuite bathroom provides a walk-in rainfall shower with water supplied from our own spring while a double-bed with organic cotton sheets creates a perfect resting place after a long day on the hills. All furnishings, complimentary toiletries and cleaning products are eco-friendly and, where possible, locally sourced and British made.
The cabin's private verandah has seating for outdoor dining and offers unspoilt views across fields and woodlands: a perfect spot to enjoy the rich wildlife. We are very lucky to have red squirrels, deer and pine martens visiting the woodlands and beavers and otters have now been sighted in the Devon. The valley is full of birdsong including that of the song thrush, woodpecker, bullfinch, lapwing, fire crest, kite and heron to name a few. The cabin's private garden includes BBQ and firepit.
