With an outstanding coastal location and direct access to a lovely sandy beach, Lunna Voe offers the perfect place for a relaxing holiday or short break. There is plenty of wildlife to watch on the beach, including a bevy of resident swans, numerous types of sea birds and the occasional visiting seal or otter. The shallow bay is also excellent for paddling and beachcombing.
Lunna Voe is a traditional Arran cottage, full of character and charm with country style furnishings and simple decor. The living room is welcoming and cosy with a good selection of books and a woodburning stove.
Outside there is a large mature garden with interesting plants and trickling streams and a family-sized picnic table for alfresco dining.
There is a very pleasant walk along the coast or along a country path to King's Cross Point, where you can sit on the rocks and contemplate the Holy Isle, a centre for world peace with a closed Buddhist retreat for women (the men's retreat in high up on the Ross Road near Lamlash). It is also a great place for a picnic and for watching the boat activity.
The self catering holiday cottage is located on the outskirts of the village but it's an easy stroll to the cafes and restaurants and other village amenities. There is also a golf course that welcomes visitors and a putting green. In the summer months, the village hall provides entertainment for all the family with ceilidhs, local bands and a weekly craft market. At the south end of the village you will find an art gallery and sculpture garden. There are many good walks nearby, including a forest walk to the spectacular Glenashdale Falls and Giant's Graves.
