Mable's is a traditional detached stone built, self catering holiday cottage offering comfortable accommodation for up to four people and their dogs. We are a mile from the famous Fairy Glen and 1.5 miles from the Uig ferry terminus for services to the Outer Hebrides. We are 100% pet friendly. Dog beds, bowls, towels and furniture covers provided FREE. Mable's is a short walk from the excellent Uig Hotel which serves great food, beer and wine; Also Rankins shop and Post Office. We are ideally situated to explore the stunning Isle of Skye with its Jurassic coast just 12 miles away; the Capital, Portree,15 miles and the Cuillin mountains an hours leisurely drive.
Mable’s Cottage is a traditional detached, stone built, one and a half storey cottage built c.1900 and is set in a third of an acre of mature gardens. We are located in the picturesque Glen Uig on the North West coast of the Isle of Skye on the Trotternish penninsula just under a mile from the famous “Fairy Glen” and only 1 1/2 miles from Uig Pier which provides daily Caledonian MacBrayne ferry services to the Western Isles (Outer Hebrides).
We offer comfortable, homely, accommodation that is comprised of two bedrooms, both on the first floor. One King Size bed and one Super King Size zipped bed which can be split to offer a twin bedroom if you prefer. There is also a quiet room that is ideal for reading or keeping up to date with your emails through our complimentary Wifi. Entrance to the property is via a utility room which has a fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, microwave and drying facilities for those wet days and is also ideal for drying off wet dogs and muddy boots. This leads into a large, fully equipped kitchen/dining room. Through the hall you will find our homely lounge complete with solid fuel burner and starter pack of logs and coal. TV/DVD/Sky+ package including Sky Sports. Just before our stairs at the centre of the house is the bathroom with P shaped bath and integrated shower. Our lobby, at the front of house, is ideal for watching the array of wild birds in the garden, which often includes a display by Gordon and Gladys, our resident Golden Eagles; or for just sitting and watching the weather develop over Glen Conon. At night it is a great place to watch out for the Northern Lights.
Our drive has parking space for up to three cars.
We are completely dog friendly and provide your four legged friends with bowls, beds and covers (so that you can travel that little bit lighter) at no extra cost. We also welcome other pets subject to prior arrangement.
