On the Hebridean island of Lewis, in the fresh and saltwater fishing paradise of the unique South Lochs area, Marvig is a detached, modern and most comfortable cottage in its own fenced garden. It stands high, with superb views over the water and out to sea.
The house is most attractively furnished, with two separate sitting rooms, one with open fire and the other with piano. Oil central heating and double glazing ensure year-round comfort.
The Callanish Standing Stones and the Carloway Broch (both 30m) bear witness to Lewis’s ancient history. The island affords unique opportunities for birdwatchers to see golden and white-tailed eagles, divers and puffin colonies on the Shiant Islands, and boat trips to view the equally rich marine wildlife. The south part of the island has magnificent silver sand beaches. Stornoway (29m) has all facilities.
