This relaxing holiday cottage is located in Aberlour, the heart of Speyside in the Scottish highlands. It offers panoramic views in a beautiful rural setting. A romantic getaway ideal for a couple who enjoy outdoor activities.
Set in an elevated position just one mile from the village of Aberlour, this delightful 17th-century stone one bedroom cottage has wonderful views. It is a comfortable, single-storey, detached accommodation, with its own walled garden, rockery and lawn. It is located in the grounds of the owners’ home, but completely independent with private access gate and parking. It is accessed by a farm track and has easy walking access to Aberlour village.
Cycling and walking may be enjoyed right from the door, on forest trails, local hills and river paths.
The cottage is also ideally placed for easy reach of the Cairngorm national park and the Speyside Way.
The Moray coast (for marine wildlife spotting), Macduff marine aquarium, Huntly Falconry centre and some of Scotland’s finest castles are also just a short drive away.
There are many good golf courses to be found in nearby villages.
Fishing permits for the River Spey are available locally in Aberlour. There are also trout fisheries within a short drive (Milbuies, Mill of Kellas and Glen of Rothes fisheries).
For the whisky connoisseur, there are several interesting distilleries to visit as well as excellent whisky shops in villages such as Dufftown and Tomintoul.
As the cottage is located away from the village, on a clear night there may be very dark skies...a bonus for stargazers.
Aberlour itself has a well-stocked supermarket, chemist, delicatessen, as well as a health centre, dentist and several excellent eateries and bars.
The cottage includes the following features:
