We look forward to welcoming you to Minaig, we are approx one mile (1.6 km) from Fort William Centre a pleasant stroll alomgside Loch Linnhe watch out for Otters, Seals and Porpoises. Fort William has numerous Resturants which cater for all tastes and pockets. The West Highland Museum is well worth Visiting no entrance free, and of course overshadowing Fort William is Ben Nevis 1345 m Highest Mountain the UK the best view of the Ben is out the Mallaig Road and looking back. Fort William has the very popular Jacobite Steam Train of Harry Potter Fame the Steam Trains go twice a day to Mallaig it is best to reserve seats. Nevis Range has a Gondola which takes you up Aonach Mor (1221 m) a stones throw from Ben Nevis, this area give Superb Views of Fort William Loch Linnhe and Loch Eil and is used by Skiers in the Winter and has some great Mountain Biking Tracks and Downhill course. Close by is Glen Nevis very popular with Walkers and Film Makers some of Braveheart with Mel Gibson was filmed here, The Caledonian Canal splits Scotand from East to West Neptunes Staircase at Corpach is a series of Locks to raise Yachts, Fishing Boats and Pleasure Craft etc 30 m up to Loch Lochy a great sight to see this in operation. If you like a Wee Dram Ben Nevis Distillery is worth a visit they have tours and have a Great Cafe.
