If you venture beyond the extensive gardens, you’ll find exceptional hill walking right on the doorstep, with mountain biking and hire available at the world-class 7Stanes at Glentress Forest Park near Peebles. Trout fishing and shooting in the vicinity can be arranged while Stobo Castle Health Spa and Dawyck Botanic Garden are just a short drive away.
