Mulberry Cottage
This charismatic period cottage in the pretty village of Bowden pays tribute to its rich heritage, celebrating colour and texture in equal measure.
Combine style and tranquility in the picturesque Conservation village of Bowden
The design led interior of this cottage reflects the creativity of the owner, beautifully presented in a rich heritage colour scheme with pops of botanical inspiration and furnishings in lush velvet and fabrics by William Morris.
The sitting room has an art-deco influence using a colour palette of green-smoke and inchyra blue, enlivened with an opulent velvet sofa in deep burnt orange and hints of gold, all set around the warming heart of a real fire.
The lavender blue undertone of the dining room is paired with an extendable oak table seating six from Perch and Parrow, complemented by Pomegranate fabric from the William Morris Archive II collection.
Bancha green has been used to great effect in the kitchen teamed with a soft pink undertone through the tongue and groove panelling which is bang on-trend but still cosy country. This leads into a ground floor shower room with lively artisan tiles for a distinctly Mediterranean vibe.
Upstairs the two bedrooms have an opulent feel in rich ochre yellow and red earth from the Paint & Paper Library, one with a super king bed and the other with zip and link system for added flexibility. The bedrooms are separated by a family bathroom, again working that art-deco feel to full effect.
Outside the cottage benefits from a fully enclosed lawned garden with views looking across the village green. Sitting on the path of St. Cuthbert’s Way and the southern edge of the Eildon Hills, there are an abundance of walking trails direct from the doorstep meaning plenty of fabby dog walking options too.
GROUND FLOORKitchen with granite work surfaces, induction hob, electric oven, integrated dishwasher, fridge, washing machine, Bosch coffee machine (Tassimo pods) and Bluetooth speaker. There is a small freezer in the cupboard in the hall between the kitchen and dining room.
Please note the ceiling height between the kitchen and dining room is restricted (approx 6'2").
