Set against a dramatic and unspoilt landscape of outstanding beauty in Glen Cannich, Mullardoch House is a fantastic holiday home for celebrations and large families. Originally built as a private hunting lodge in the early 20th century, the property boasts stunning views across Loch Sealbhanach and the surrounding glen.
The property consists of 11 bedrooms across three floors, with plenty of social rooms for you to spend time in. The drawing room to the front of the house takes advantage of the waterside views, where you will be mesmerised by the natural beauty that surrounds Mullardoch. The dining room is large enough to seat 22 people, which is ideal for family dinners and entertaining. There is also a bar, where you can cosy up beside the fire with a dram in hand. Each of the bedrooms are spacious, with almost all having ensuite bathrooms – ideal for fishing/stalking groups.
Steeped in history, Mullardoch is said to have been host to many important figures in society such as the last Tsar of Russia, who would visit to enjoy the world-class stalking, shooting and fishing in this fantastic area of the Highlands. Today, the lodge is still an ideal base for such rural sports whilst also offering superb hill walking and challenging Munros. Sightings of birds such as golden eagles, osprey and ptarmigan have been observed from the house in the past, so ensure you have some binoculars at the ready! Lying between the National Nature Reserves of Glen Affric and Glen Strathfarrar, Glen Cannich is a sparsely populated, less visited area which provides a unique sense of solitude and remoteness.
