Nether Glenny farm is home to two beautiful self catering holiday cottages, a cosy self catering studio and a secluded Bothy. The farm is nestled in The Menteith Hills, in The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, offering stunning views of the Lake of Menteith and the surrounding hills. Its owners, Matt and Alison, raise a herd of native Highland Cows and we offer our hugely popular Coos and Views Experience offering you the opportunity to get up close and personal with our cows and learn about Nether Glenny Farm. If you love nature, great adventures, off the beaten track, walking, hiking and cycling and wild swimming then our farm is the place for you.
Buzzard is a beautiful stone cottage with its own wood fired hot tub, set beside Merlin and Kestrel. Buzzard is suitable for 2 – 4 guests, has two large bedrooms and bathrooms, a full kitchen, dining area, outdoor seating and its finest feature could be its large wood burning fire set at the end of the open plan living area. Once an old barn, it has been lovingly restored into a cosy country hideaway and is ideal for couples, small families, or anyone looking for a home from home in stunning surroundings.
Kestrel is our one bedroom cottage with magnificent views of the lake and hills. It has a living room, full kitchen, bathroom with underfloor heating, a conservatory/ dining room and every room will provide you with a magnificent view. A wood burning fire, gorgeous accessories and lush soft furnishings make this cottage super cosy. There is a king size bed and a cot can be set up for an infant. Guests are known to ‘fall in love’ with Kestrel.
The Bothy Nestled in the hills, where wild spaces and sweeping vistas stretch in every direction is The Bothy. You will have no neighbours at all, so this is the ultimate rural escape. Whether you’re sitting on the deck or soaking in the wood fire hot tub under the stars, you’ll find plenty of ways to recharge and relax.
Inside there is everything you will need. Prepare a meal in the little kitchen, enjoy your candle lit meal at the dining table, relax on a huge sofa by the fire and enjoy the cool décor. Upstairs is your mezzanine bedroom featuring a magnificent headboard, king size bed, cosy duvets, blankets and lighting and a little widow to peek at the stars.
You’ll feel blissfully removed from daily life.
Merlin A small and perfectly created little studio nestled between Buzzard and Kestrel. Suited to a couple or solo traveller and for those who wish to explore the national park the return to a sumptuous bed and cosy surroundings. Guests can prepare a simple meal in the kitchen or make life easy by ordering from our Dine In menu. Merlin has a large modern walk in shower. We invite our Merlin guests to enjoy the views or watch the sunset from the chairs by the pond or undercover from the Pantry deck.
The Pantry Our guests have access to The Nether Glenny Pantry, our cosy cabin, complete with a roaring log fire, a blue tooth speaker and also to our new shared recreation area ( Spring 2026 ) Inside The Pantry you’ll find some classic board games, tea, coffee and biscuits in a jar and there are cosy blankets to use outside on the deck. We also keep The Pantry stocked with soft drinks, tasty snacks, crisps, excellent souvenirs, Highland Cow gifts and lots of other goodies which are available to purchase from our website.
Coos and Views Join us on Wednesdays and Saturdays mornings at 11am for our hugely popular Coos and Views! This is your opportunity to meet our Highland cows up close, learn about their personalities, discover how we care for them using sustainable farming practices and how we have restored wild spaces and reintroduced threatened species to Nether Glenny Farm. Nearby The tourist villages of Aberoyle and Callander are only short drives away and have plenty of quaint gift shops, cafes, pubs, distilleries and tourist atrractions. Dine out at Nick Nairn's in Port of Menteith or one of the loca pubs and use the local friendly taxi service.
