No9 Inveraray is a 200-year old end-terrace cottage full of character and charm, located on the fringes of Inveraray, with uninterrupted views of Loch Fyne, Britain’s longest sea loch.
This 3 double-bedroomed cottage is brilliantly located for touring Argyll and its stunning coastline or for strolling from its front door into Inveraray town, with its restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops. Also on its doorstep are two must-see visitor attractions; Inveraray Jail (great for kids) and the majestic Inveraray Castle, seat of the Duke of Argyll. And, within just a 15 minute drive from No9, is the world-famous Loch Fyne Oyster Bar, the Loch Fyne Brewery and Ardkinglass Woodland Garden, home of Britain’s tallest tree and the Gruffalo Trail!
The plentiful luxury touches in No9 are complemented further by its delightfully quirky décor. See the No9 Gallery and you’ll see what we mean. With an en-suite master bedroom, open fire in the lounge (coal and wood are provided) and all front-facing windows enjoying uninterrupted views of Loch Fyne, No9 is just perfect.
The cottage also has a private, enclosed walled garden with raised seating deck next to the summer house plus table and chairs for al-fresco dining in this tranquil space. Exiting the garden at the rear of the property are multiple parking spaces for guests.
With the shore of Loch Fyne literally across the road, we know some guests will indulge in wild swimming or paddleboarding, especially with the frequent calmness of the loch in this sheltered aspect by Inveraray.
We’ve created day trip itineraries for the nearby Blue Cottage at Loch Awe, and these are all easily adaptable for trips from No9, Inveraray
For gourmets, there’s an abundance of choice locally from Inveraray’s characterful George Hotel and acclaimed Samphire Seafood Restaurant to the nearby Loch Fyne Oyster Bar and, further down the other side of the loch, the award-wining Inver Restaurant (rated 33 in the UK’s top-50 restaurants) overlooking Strathlachlan Castle.
Lovers of outdoor pursuits are spoilt for choice in Argyll. From your base at No9, you’re a short drive to access abundant forest trails to walk or cycle such as Glen Nant National Nature Reserve and Achnabreac Forest. And there’s watersports a plenty from wild-swimming to sea-kayaking, paddleboarding and the exhilarating Seafari excursions from nearby Easdale and Oban. You can also indulge in horse-riding, fishing at Loch Awe (home of Britain’s record Brown Trout) and golf at nearby golf courses at Inveraray, Dalmally and Lochgilphead.
And by arrangement we can provide golf clubs, bicycles and fishing gear to help you make the most of your break.
