Oakbank nestles peacefully in a glorious glen close to the scenic shores of Loch Awe with the impressive Ben Cruachan as a backdrop. This charming traditional Scottish cottage has been lovingly restored and extended to provide quality self-catering accommodation. Set in the friendly hamlet of Kilchrenan by the little road that winds its way through the glen, Oakbank is surrounded by a large, delightful cottage garden that leads down through an open woodland garden to a burn (young children must be supervised).
The cottage is comfortably furnished using an appealing mix of both antique and modern pieces creating a cosy relaxed atmosphere. The spacious, beamed dining kitchen is kept warm by a wood burner and takes full advantage of the glorious views with a full length window and door that opens directly onto a terrace creating a lovely spot for alfresco dining. The multi fuel stove and generous sofas in the sitting room create the perfect setting for relaxed evenings after a busy day out and about and the traditional upright piano is sure to delight the musically minded.
The three bedrooms are well positioned up 6 steps in the extension at the rear of the house and look out over the garden to the mountains beyond. In the early mornings you may well spot deer down from the hills quietly grazing around the cottage, or experience the dawn chorus from the dozens of birds that thrive here.
