We are a mother and daughter team and love having guests to stay in our Georgian Farmhouse which is situated on a small sheep farm close to the Scottish Border and perfect for exploring the Borders, Hadrian’s Wall and Lake District too. Guests with or without horses are welcome and their dogs too. Choose from B&B, half or full board.
Accommodation is in three x twin rooms (can be made Kingsize) with feather and down duvets and pillows and pure cotton bedding. Guests have complete freedom of the house – dining room, snug with wifi and sky, we have a fridge in the pantry for your wine and guests are welcome in the kitchen to make a brew. The new sun-room on the front is for crafting days. We have various seating places around the house and garden – front patio to bake in the sunshine, the veranda at the back for late evening (and its near the fridge!), decking by the summer house and pond with its waterfall.
For the horses we have 5 BHS approved stables, 2 BHS approved stalls, plenty of hay and straw provided, further undercover tie-ups, varied selection of electric fenced paddocks. Wash down area, secure tack room and lots of parking. Holiday livery can be arranged.
For those bringing horses, I organise picnic rides, and pub rides, paddling and swimming rides, bubbly and nibbles rides – complete with backup – towels, dry clothes, food and drink etc,– ride along derelict railway lines, across ancient battlefields, visit the Faery Glen or one of the Seven Staines. Rides can be as short as 3 miles or as long as 50+ and everything in between.
My farm adjoins Kershope Forest where we have miles of forest tracks, and within a 4 mile radius we have more bridleways than anywhere else in the country (probably).
To end each day, relax in our wood-fired hot-tub – we have a good supply of plastic glasses!
New for Summer 2018 The Todd Bump Hobbit House will be ready – this is located on the side of a hill overlooking nothing but field, stream and forest - no lights, no houses, no roads, no cars – just peace and quiet and dark skies. This underground house will have a wood-burning stove with oven, small shower-room and boot-room/utility. There will be a seating area outside with BBQ.
