Hoy is a magnificent island to explore with coastal walks and rich wildlife which includes birds, seals, whales and basking sharks. On the doorstep is Kirkhope Bay which is safe for swimming, great for rock-pooling and fishing or just mooching about. The wild north is home to Rackwick with its beautiful beach and is the starting point of a fabulous walk to the “Old Man of Hoy”. All over the island are sites of archaeological interest.
Hoy is also a great place to see the amazing Merry Dancers (Northern Lights), making it a place of interest throughout the year. Visit www.oldhallcottage.co.uk for more information.
