This is a very private location on a peninsula in Loch Ness with stunning loch and mountain views yet only a ten minute walk or a two minute drive from the centre of the village.
Located in the heart of the Highlands we are ideally situated as a central base for your Scottish touring holiday. We welcome walkers, cyclists, canoeists kayakers, horses and riders and camping groups. There is plenty of parking and storage space.
The 125 year old house with magnificent views has been extended to provide comfortable en-suite ground floor bedrooms, sitting rooms with log fires and a large bright breakfast room with superb views. Originally the Old Pier House was the end of the line for the West Highland Railway where big paddle steamers carried timber, cattle and people up the loch to Inverness. The old pier still remains and provides wonderful photo opportunities, a great picnic location and moorings for small boats.
All bedrooms have an en-suite shower room and there is an extra shared bathroom available for those who would rather take a bath. Each room has a television and free Wi-fi.
Hot drink making facilities are always available in the guest dining room, a shared fridge for storing your own food and cold drinks, hairdryers and an iron and ironing board are also available.
Our Scottish breakfast is cooked to order and includes;
Bacon, Egg, Haggis, Tomato and Potato Scone.
There is an extensive buffet where you can serve yourself to toast, bread rolls and pancakes. Also available are a selection of cereals, yogurts, Scottish cheeses and seasonal fruit. To drink there are fruit juices and a variety of teas and coffee.
There is stabling in our yard or fenced grazing for horses and ponies should you wish to give them a holiday too. You can stay in the house, cabins or you may prefer to camp. We charge an extra £10 per night per horse subject to availability.
We can accommodate up to 20 people self-catering if you wish to have exclusive use of Old Pier House and grounds for a minimum stay of three nights. Up to 10 people can stay in the main house and up to a further 10 people sharing the log cabins. Please telephone or e-mail to discuss further details.
We also have friendly Highland cattle and ponies that graze naturally on the heather hills, fields and surrounding woodlands.
