The Highland Club at Fort Augustus is probably the best location on Loch Ness for couples and family holidays that you will find anywhere in the Highlands. Situated on the shores of Loch Ness Old School 11 apartment is just a few yards from the village of Fort Augustus known locally as the 'Gateway to Loch Ness' as it is situated at the southern end of the lake making it ideal for touring both sides of the loch. It is also ideally situated for visiting Inverness and Fort William, both being within an hour by car from the apartment. The west coast and Isle of Skye, famous for its fantastic sunsets and rugged coastline is also only just over an hour from Fort Augustus.

The building was formerly part of the old boys school which was run by St Benedict monks in days when the Highland Club was an abbey. Prior to that it was a military fort built by the English military in the days of the Jacobites. Many of the original military and monastic features can still be seen around the grounds and in the buildings now restored.

The local golf course is only a half mile from The Highland Club and cruises on Loch Ness can be taken from the village of Fort Augustus just 300 yards from your accommodation
