The house has antique furnishings and all the bedrooms large, ensuite and have views over the garden. One of the bedrooms has a FOUR POSTER BED and there is a ground floor double and single room for those who dislike stairs. There are OPEN LOG FIRES in the drawing room and bar producing comfortable and atmospheric rooms in which to quietly read a book or enjoy a drink at the end of the day.The bar is for the use of hotel guests only. Extensive private garden for you to walk around in or to exercise a dog. PETS are welcome, although we do not have kennel facilities.
We use ORGANIC VEGETABLES grown in the garden and make full use of locally sourced fish and meat to produce mouth watering dinners. Awarded AA Red Rosette for food.
Having been built in 1637 Ord House is of historic interest and does boast a RESIDENT GHOST. She can been seen on occassions in the corridors or a certain bedroom in her white victorian nightgown! Luckily she is very friendly and doesn't mind the house being full of visitors!
INVERNESS has good shopping for those who need retail therapy and locally in Beauly there is a world famous shop for tartans and woollens.
For the GOLF ENTHUSIAST there are 12 courses within a half hours drive including the championship course of NAIRN and ROYAL DORNOCH.
Other areas of interest include watching the DOLPHINS at cromarty point or seeing the OSPREYS flying locally. NESSIE, resident in LOCH NESS, is only 20 minutes down the road. Castles abound in this area including Castle of Mey, the queen mothers scottish residence. One can also walk in the hills, see the waterfalls of Shin and Rogie falls or just enjoy the outstanding scenery of the HIGHLANDS OF SCOTLAND.
