Penrhyl is a substantial and spacious detached family house which occupies a dominant position right above the harbour in the picturesque village of St Abbs on the Berwickshire coast, about 13 miles north of Berwick upon Tweed.
In a quiet street, in its own enclosed garden (furniture), it has wonderful sea views from many of the windows and is most comfortably furnished in a homely, traditional style, with a versatile assortment of bedrooms. The sitting and dining rooms have a log burner and open fire respectively and there is even a piano on the landing!
In addition to its pretty harbour, St Abbs (shop/cafe) is famous for its amazing seabird reserve on the cliffs where you can enjoy spectacular cliff walks. There is a lovely sandy beach at nearby Coldingham and little fishing port of Eyemouth (all facilities) is only 5 miles away. Berwick is also well worth a visit and from there you can continue down to Lindisfarne, Alnwick and the fine beaches of the Northumberland coast. In the other direction, Edinburgh is only an hour away by car or train.
