Persie House is the perfect rural idyll, a wonderful luxury house engulfed in peaceful tranquillity and surrounded by the beautiful Perthshire countryside in the centre of its own stunning 1500 acre estate.
When approached from the front drive, this enchanting Edwardian country house with its turreted façade emerges through the trees with a welcoming grandeur. With lawns and sweeping herbaceous borders to the left and the glimpse of a tennis court through the mature woodlands to the right, there is a feeling time has stood still here and never more so than when stepping into the magnificent wood panelled entrance hall where there is a real sense of Edwardian splendour. The drawing room, with its open fire and large bay window overlooking the garden, has a comfortable elegance, whilst the study provides a cosy retreat in which to spend some quiet time sitting in front of a roaring log fire. The dining room, which can comfortably seat eighteen, is a fabulous setting for candlelit dining, whether it be a formal dinner or more relaxed family meals, and then retire to the games/function room to play table tennis or move back the furniture and dance the night away. With one double, four twin and one single comfortable and traditionally furnished bedrooms to choose from on the first floor and a further three twin rooms, a single room and handy dormitory sleeping five (ideal for children) on the top floor- this is the ultimate holiday hideaway whether for larger parties or more intimate gatherings.
Activities range from climbing and walking, with many Munros within easy reach, ski slopes are 10 miles to the north whilst golfers can enjoy the numerous golf courses in the area including championship courses. With Glamis Castle, Scone Palace and Balmoral Castle all within an hour's drive, this house is an ideal central location from which to see the true diversity of the Scottish Highlands, from the rugged wilderness of the Cairngorms to the sophistication of Scotland’s major cities, all within two hours drive. Closer to home, in the grounds of the estate, guests may wish to play tennis, shoot clays or fish for salmon on the Blackwater River (lessons available), which runs along the eastern boundary. Alternatively, you may wish to spend the day in the boat on one of Persie’s lochs surrounded by swans, moorhens and coots and fishing for wild brown trout. Shooting and stalking can also be arranged locally or simply enjoy wandering round the grounds, watch the red squirrels or catch a glimpse of a roe deer, and fill your lungs full of fresh Scottish air.
Persie house is also licensed for wedding ceremonies if you are looking for a unique venue for your special day.
