Accommodation: 3 bedrooms, 2 doubles, 1 twin (sleeps 6)
An idyllic, secluded shoreline location in Argyll and a newly renovated traditional cottage makes Pier Cottage on Loch Fyne a treasure. This newly rebuilt self-catering holiday cottage sits just along the shore from Shore Cottage on the Castleton Estate, but has its own garden and privacy. The cottage is literally a few steps from the sea and you can sit on the patio and watch the tides change or even paddle across to one of the islands.
Inside the house this lovely cottage provides excellent self catering accommodation with a large open plan public area with kitchen/dining area and sitting room. The large doors make the most of the stunning view. The downstairs bedroom with its large window mean you can lie in bed looking at the water.
The area round Loch Fyne has numerous outdoor activities and some excellent restaurants such as the Loch Fyne oyster bar and Crinan Hotel, making Pier Cottage a wonderful base from which to explore the delights of Argyll. For wildlife enthusiasts expect to see red squirrels, roe deer, seals, perhaps an otter or pine marten, a profusion of small and large birds, siskins, goldfinches, blue tits, herons, pheasants, red legged partridge, buzzards, oyster catchers maybe even the greater spotted woodpecker or an osprey or sea eagle flying overhead.
