For longer hikes, there are direct footpaths to Kyle of Lochalsh and Plockton, providing long and varied routes through ancient woodlands, past lochs (one with remains of an ancient Crannog), with fantastic views of the surrounding moutains, lochs and islands. Minutes walk from Balmacara square and its lovely cafe, delicatessen and visitor art/craft gallery.
There are several stunning local beaches and this is an excellent base for walking, climbing, kayaking, wildlife-watching, and much more.
