Steeped in history, visited by both Mary Queen of Scots and Bonnie Prince Charlie, this home has character and charm. It is an exceptionally interesting “B” listed castle. Sympathetically restored by its current owners, it provides a magical yet welcoming and comfortable holiday home. With its spiral staircases, painted beamed ceilings, stone vaulted rooms and thick walls Plane Castle is full of atmosphere. The period detail is everywhere and yet you have comfortable warm bedrooms, plenty of bathrooms and splendid public rooms to make you comfortable. Perfectly positioned near Stirling, Plane Castle has ready access to Glasgow and Edinburgh, as well as being an ideal spot to explore the north. Plane Castle can be rented exclusively or the Manor & Tower can be rented separately. The Manor sleeps p to 10 and the Tower up to 8. The Castle is also
an approved wedding venue. Guests at Plane Castle can enjoy the magnificent gardens complete with ponds, rowing boat, ducks, sculptures and delightful planting of beech tunnels, wisteria walks and even a Hobbit House, and Wendy play-house! Neither of the properties is suitable for the less mobile tenant and the spiral stairs are steep. Young children should be supervised both on the stairs and in the garden where the water features are not fenced off.
