Literally just a stone's throw from the beach, this cottage is wonderfully light and airy and would make an idyllic romantic getaway for two, as well as an ideal base for walkers and cyclists alike. It enjoys the peace and tranquility of a charming village, yet is within 10 minutes drive of the villages of Blackwaterfoot and also Lochranza. In addition there are many high and low level walking routes accessible nearby, and visitors here can look forward to the prospect of some incredible sunsets.
With very comfortable accommodation for up to four over two levels, the cottage includes a master bedroom with views towards three different aspects and a very useful sofa bed downstairs in the sitting room. The kitchen is well equipped and has everything that guests could need. However, for those who prefer to dine out, there are numerous excellent restaurants nearby. Closest is the Lighthouse in Pirnmill but there are many more to choose from in Blackwaterfoot and Lochranza.
The house itself offers an ideal location to make the best of the island, particularly the mountainous region in the north, as well as access to beautiful sandy beaches on the north west coast and the golf course in Lochranza. The ferry from Lochranza takes 30 minutes and runs regularly to Claonaig in the summer season and Tarbert in the off season. From there, the Kintyre peninsula can be explored.
For those interested in historical sites, the King's Caves in local Blackwaterfoot are a series of natural sandstone caves with fragile ancient carvings on the walls. In addition, the Neolithic and Bronze age site of the Machrie Standing Stones is just a short drive from the cottage.
