PUCKS GLEN LODGES are solid built log cabins made with logs from the Douglas Fir tree. Inside there is a lovely luxurious feel. The cabins are fully heated and equipped to a very comfortable standard.They are privately owned and the owners live locally. Flexible entry days.
CHOOSE from two 2-bedroom lodges each sleeping up to 4. Each has a double bedroom with kingsize bed and luxury Egyptian cotton bedding, and one twin bedroom. Free wi-fi is provided. Children over 5 years are welcome. Lodges are pet-free and no-smoking.
LOCATED in a beautiful open woodland park setting at the foot of Pucks Glen walk, mid-way between Loch Eck and the Holy Loch, the cabins are just 10 minutes drive from the popular seaside town of Dunoon. The area is known as the Argyll Forest Park section of the Loch Lomond Trossachs National Park.
THE AREA is one of outstanding natural beauty and has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, when steamers brought visitors 'in their droves' for sunshine, sand, ice cream, boating, the Great Outdoors. The Benmore Botanical Gardens are a now a major tourist draw, as are the forest walks, including the magical Pucks Glen, Morags Fairy Glen, Kilmun Arboretum, Ardnadam and Glenbranter. There are sandy bays at Ardentinny and Ostel Bay, a secluded beach off the beaten track and only accessible (first by road, then) on foot. The Isle of Bute, Rothesay Castle and Mount Stuart are great for a day out.
ACTIVITIES - for those with adventurous spirit theres Quad Biking to try nearby, and Agyll Adventure offer Horse Riding and Paintballing. Perhaps bring along your gear for the gentle sport of fishing, the Gentlemans' sport of Stalking, or even bring your clubs for a round or two on the Golf Course.
