The cosy lounge features a log fire and the picture window looks out on to a panoramic view of the surrounding hillside. After a busy day sightseeing, you can relax and either enjoy the tranquillity of the location, listen to a CD, watch your favourite TV programme or, if you prefer, choose from the selection of DVD's available. The large modern kitchen and utility room provide a wide range of modern amenities to ensure your stay is as comfortable and convenient as possible.
Standing in its own grounds, the cottage has a magnificent view towards the legendary Loch Ness and surrounding hillside. Beautiful walks, literally only minutes away, can be taken and deer and other wildlife can be viewed in its natural habitat. The impressive Divach Falls are just a 20 minutes stroll away.
Loch Ness Cottage is nestled just ½ mile from the picturesque village of Drumnadrochit, home of the Loch Ness Monster Exhibition. The village has a supermarket and a range of restaurants that meet a variety of tastes and pockets! Drumnadrochit is ideally situated for exploring the Highlands' stunning landscapes and popular centres such as Fort William (for Ben Nevis), Glen Affric (one of Scotland's most scenic glens), Fort Augustus, The Black Isle where dolphins can be viewed at Chanonry Point, plus much, much more.
The City of Inverness, The Capital of The Highlands, is just 15 miles away and is a thriving centre boasting all the popular High Street names, a theatre, multi-screen cinema complex, a well-equipped aquadome, ice rink and bowling alley plus, of course, a wide range of restaurants. Inverness stands on the banks of the river Ness and has much appeal to the sightseer. Steeped in history and historic buildings, it has its own cathedral and castle. The City has an international airport plus excellent rail links to major centres throughout the UK.
DIRECTIONS TO RILLAN (FROM INVERNESS – 25 minutes)
On arrival in Inverness, follow signs to Fort William (A82). Once you are on the A82, Drumnadrochit is 15 miles from Inverness.Once you reach the village of Drumnadrochit, follow the A82 round to the left. Pass through the village and look out for directional sign to Balmacaan and Divach Falls.
Turn right here into Balmacaan Road. Drive for 1/2 mile and as the road veers to the left, go straight ahead across junction. Rillan is about 200 yards on the right hand side (look out for low ranch style fence with the ‘Rillan’ sign).
Parking is at the side of the bungalow.
DIRECTIONS TO RILLAN (FROM GLASGOW – 3 hours)
If you enter Glasgow on the A74(M), look for M8 which takes you into the City Centre. As you approach the centre look for signs to DUMBARTON (A82).
The A82 will take you north to Fort William and then towards Inverness. Keep on the A82.
When you get to Fort Augustus this is the beginning of Loch Ness, keep on the A82 and you will come to Urquhart Castle (about 13 miles). Drumnadrochit is only 2 miles from Urquhart.
The Drumnadrochit sign is in the left hand side, look out for directional sign to Balmacaan and Divach Falls.

Getting there by railway:- From any UK railway station to Inverness Station. There are car facilities at the station.
Getting there by aeroplane:- Fly from Luton or Gatwick to Inverness Airport. There are car hire facilities at the airport or take a taxi to Inverness about 4 miles away.
There is a regular bus service that operates thruought the week from Drumnadrochit to Inverness.
