There is an Aldi and Lidi close by along with Bhaile, an artisan bakery and coffee shop just across the car park. Bus and train stations are a short walk away as is Ayr Beach.
The River Ayr walk is a flat stroll to Ayr College and the University of the West of Scotland Ayr Campus under a 1km away.
This property being all on one level may suit some less able guests.
Ayr is a bustling market town, ideally located for a holiday, with good, easy shopping, attractive coastline with ruined and inhabited castles, sandy beaches, walking, cycling, golfing and fun days out for all the family. There are a range of restaurants, pubs and clubs to suit all tastes and budgets.
Attractions such as Culzean Castle and Dumfries House are about 30 minutes away by car. Both have houses to explore and vast grounds and gardens that are worth a visit at anytime of the year. Closer to the cottage is the suburb of Alloway, the birthplace of Robert Burns and the now the home of Robert Burns Birthplace Museum. Ayr Racecourse is close by and even walkable. In Irvine, about half an hour away by car there is the Maritime Museum in its harbour setting.
The Ayr Gaiety Theatre has occasional shows as does The Palace Theatre at Kilmarnock.
For golfers, there is a huge choice of public and private courses to choose from including 3 Open Championship venues namely Royal Troon, Old Prestwick and Turnberry.
There are easy train links to access Glasgow and Edinburgh for a day out leaving the car at the cottage. Ardrossan Harbour for the ferry to the Isle of Arran is a mere 30 minutes drive away. The ferry at Cairnryan for Northern Ireland is about 46 miles away.
This apartment rented together with the ground floor Riverview Apartment 14B and the first floor Harbourview Apartment 14D would make ideal holiday accommodation for larger groups as they are close to one another and would sleep a further 8 people in total.
