Rockpool House Apartment offers luxury self-catering accommodation that sits only a few metres from the shore of Loch Sunart on the beautiful Ardnamurchan Peninsula in a west highland coastal setting.
At the heart of Ardnamurchan, close to the villages of Strontian, Salen and Acharacle, it is the ideal base for walking, cycling, nature-watching, fishing and touring. The road by it leads to the most westerly point on mainland Britain, passing through Glenborrodale where there is a RSPB reserve and a new distillery. About 7 miles to the north is the Ariundle Oakwood Nature Reserve with ancient moss covered oaks; a remnant of the Atlantic oak forest that once covered most of the west coast. Wildlife abounds in the area, with otters, seals, porpoises, eagles and other sea birds spotted most days from both apartment and the area nearby.
The apartment’s design makes the most of its magnificent situation. At the front, the open plan sitting/dining/kitchen area has a floor to ceiling window facing the loch to provide guests with breath-taking views. From there they can relax and watch the ever changing scene unfold before their eyes. In it, you will find a sofa, armchair, dining table and chairs, and Freesat TV with a DVD player.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all the implements that you might need, as well as an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer and a small dishwasher. There is also a combined washing machine/tumble dryer located at the top of the staircase at the rear of the apartment. A supply of eco-friendly products is provided for you to use.
The bedroom is separate, but open plan to the corridor and contains a super king size that can be converted into two twin beds upon request. If you do require the two twin bed arrangement, please make sure that you specify this at the time of booking.
The bathroom, located at the rear of the apartment, has a bath with glass shower screen and electrically heated, over bath shower unit fitted. Ample towels and bed lined are provided for your stay, together with hair dryer and toiletries from Highland Soap Company.
The apartment is normally let on a weekly basis, but we do offer short breaks during our low season, which runs from November to March, inclusive. The change-over day for a week long booking is a Saturday. Low season short breaks commence on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday or Saturday.
