Accommodation: 2 bedrooms - 2 doubles (sleeps 4)
Set within a quiet courtyard in the centre of Inverness, Rose Cottage is a beautifully presented property that has been extensively modernised throughout. The cottage is bright and spacious, and is ideal for couples or a small family who are looking to explore the Highland capital during a short break or a week long holiday.
The open plan kitchen/dining area is a fantastic space for socialising over a glass of wine, and benefits from patio doors that lead outside to the small seating area at the front of the cottage. The fully equipped high quality kitchen contains everything you could need for preparing a delicious meal. You will notice that most of the rooms in this house are larger than you would think – this goes for the sitting room too. The woodburning stove with original exposed stone lintel makes it the perfect spot for cosying up in front of the TV in the evenings. When you make your way upstairs, you are greeted by a sun room on the landing, which makes great use of the space and the large windows that look out over the courtyard: a lovely place to relax. Both of the bedrooms have been tastefully furnished and decorated traditionally, with handmade tartan curtains and cushions that add to the homely feel of this cottage. Each bedroom has the benefit of an ensuite shower room, and there is a bathroom downstairs which contains a gorgeous freestanding double-ended bath which stands out against a sparkling tiled white quartz feature wall - perfect for those looking to spoil themselves with a bubble bath at the end of a long day of exploring!
Rose Cottage is located near the River Ness, and is just a 5 minute walk away from Eden Court Theatre and cinema. The town centre is a short 10 minute walk, meaning you can go and enjoy a drink or two in one of the many bars and restaurants along the riverside without worrying about a long journey back to the cottage afterwards. Day trips are possible to the West including Skye, Torridon or Ullapool and to the South there is the Cairngorm National Park and the Strathspey Steam Railway. Heading East takes you to the seaside towns of Nairn or Lossiemouth and many whisky distilleries, or head North for the day to the Black Isle and visit the historic villages of Fortrose and Cromarty (don’t forget to go dolphin spotting at Chanonry Point!). Head further north to visit Dornoch with its cathedral, beautiful beaches and the fairytale castle of Dunrobin. A lot of these destinations are accessible by train or bus if you are without a car. A fabulous cottage in a fantastic location – this is perfect for those who are looking for a place to stay where everything is on their doorstep.
