Ross Villa, owned by Ian and Ray Ross, is a recently built non-smoking high quality bed and breakfast situated in the Royal Burgh of Tain, 33 miles north of Inverness. We are situated a short distance from the town centre in a very secluded quiet location with views across the Dornoch Firth to the Sutherland hills.
The Clan Ross Centre in Tain and Tain & District Museum houses a fine selection of historical artefacts, photographs and documents relating to the history of this beautiful and historic Royal Burgh, which according to tradition, dates back to 1066.
For the golfer Tain has its very own Tom Morris 'jewel in the crown' course and nearby there is Dornoch, (championship) Golspie and Brora, all 18 hole courses. There are several other popular Courses within an hour's drive.
Tain is an ideal base for a day out to John O'Groats on the north coast or Ullapool on the west coast, both within an hour's drive and is an ideal stopping off place for catching a ferry to Orkney or for doing a marathon from Lands End to John O'Groats
There are many visitor attractions nearby, ie. Glenmorangie Distillery, Dunrobin Castle, Shin Falls where you can see salmon leap, dolphins at Chanonry Point, Loch Ness where 'nessie' lives and many more, as well as walking and cycling at the nearby hills, forests or beaches.
