The apartment, beside our family home, has off-road parking with ramp access or steps to its own front door, and level floors throughout (mobility access Level 2). Your privacy is assured, yet we are happy for you to tap into our local knowledge if you wish to do so.
Rubha Mor offers spacious comfort and plenty of hot water (bath/over-bath shower), with all linen and towels provided, and drying facilities in the warm airing cupboard. The sitting room has comfortable sofas and a wood burner (HDTv/DVD/Wi-Fi/radio-CD player) with games, DVD’s and spare USB points. The kitchen is complete with fridge-freezer, microwave, induction cooker – (please use with care if you have a pacemaker), slow cooker, and dishwasher, together with a washing machine and ironing facilities. The bedroom can be a double or twin, with capacity for one extra using a z-bed at £30 extra for the week. Your own patio opens to the shared wildlife garden (with a pond) and has open access to the pebble beach, from where you can walk into Ullapool. There is plenty of information on things to see and do, with maps and books provided. Our prices are all inclusive, and we are verified as "Committed to Quality" (CTQ) by the Association of Scottish Self Caterers. Flexible days are available to let from November to March. In the summer, Ullapool offers boat trips and ranger guided tours to explore the area, its scenery and wildlife. Discover the "North West Geopark" with self guided road tours. There is a Saturday Market, and a vibrant, local arts and music scene to inspire you, with a variety of festivals throughout the year (www.Ullapool.com).
Local facilities include: Lochbroom Leisure Centre and swimming pool (we provide cards for free access); museum, golf course, and art galleries; and there are a variety of shops, pubs, eating places, and take-aways, including the famous "Seafood Shack". The mobile "Screen Machine" cinema visits about four times a year.
At Rubha Mor we support the aims of "Sustainable Tourism" and a "Green" approach to living. We recycling to minimise waste and use “Eco-friendly” and “Fair Trade” products. We also support our local shops and social enterprise scheme “Made in Ullapool”. Our garden has a diverse range of habitats to encourage a rich variety of wildlife, which can often be enjoyed from the sofa!
Your hosts Paul and Kate moved to Ullapool in 1988 and were told "if you survive two winters you'll be here for ever"! Our son Will is the "Kayak Summer Isles" guide and our daughter Emma works in Tourism and has excellent French.
