The Cairngorm National Park is Britain's largest national park. Its boundaries stretch from Grantown-on-Spey to the Angus Glens; from Ballater to Dalwhinnie and Drumochter and include much of the Laggan area in the southwest, as well as a large area of Glenlivet estate and the Strathdon /Glenbuchat area. The Cairngorms’ rich cultural heritage is also part of what makes it exceptional.
The National Park is a hot-spot for Scottish wildlife. The high mountains, ancient forests, fields and moorlands are nationally and internationally important. There are wildcats in the woods and ospreys fishing the lochs.
The closest village, Nethybridge, includes a general store and post office, an excellent butcher, pottery, and an outdoor centre. There are tennis courts, a bowling green, golf course and a community centre which hosts regular activities and events.
Right on the doorstep, Rymore Wood, has an abundance of wildlife, including Crested Tits, Crossbills, Woodcock, Red Squirrels, Pine Martens, Badgers, Red & Roe Deer.
