Saughtree station house lies on the disused Border Counties Railway. It has since been refurbished and is now a private house with the former platform rooms providing unique and comfortable guest accommodation.
The guest accommodation has its own private entrance from the platform to the waiting room, which has TV and tea-making facilities. A cooked breakfast is served there each morning. Access from the waiting room to two adjoined single bedrooms( formerly the ticket office and the ladies waiting room) leads onto an en suite shower room.
There is no mobile signal but WIFI is available.
We provide fresh fruit, and a fully stocked fridge in your accommodation, also a variety of cereal and breads.
The guest suite is let as a whole for either single or two person occupancy. For two people sharing the cost for bed and breakfast is £75 per night. For single person the rate for bed and breakfast is £55 per night.
Evening meals can be provided at extra cost by prior arrangement. Alternatively, there is a choice of pubs and restaurants within a 15 minute drive.
The station has a third of a mile track on which sits a Ruston diesel shunter, two wagons and a guards van. There is a platform bench and a plate layers hut.
We are located in beautiful liddesdale, ideal countryside for walkers, cyclists and anyone looking for peace and tranquility. Kielder water and observatory are nearby.
