Jane and Angus welcome you to their family home, with its wonderful sea views, and large garden. In the centre of the pretty rural village of Aberlady, Seafield has easy access to beaches, golf and other East Lothian tourist attractions, and yet is only 30 minutes from the city sights of Edinburgh. The Bed & Breakfast accommodation has two bedrooms and a large shared bathroom. The rooms are charged at £85 per night, with £15 discount for single occupancy. The village has three excellent restaurants within five minutes walk!
For country lovers, Aberlady is situated seventeen miles east of Edinburgh, in the heart of East Lothian. It is home to the Scottish Ornithology Club, whose base has fabulous views north across the bird sanctuary in Aberlady Bay (as does Seafield). The area offers beautiful coastal and riverside walks, or, for the more adventurous, hill walking and cycling in the Lammermuirs. The historians will find much to enjoy, exploring the castles at Tantallon, Dirleton and Hailes.
For those with younger children, the beaches of East Lothian are on your doorstep, almost literally. Gullane, Yellow Craigs and North Berwick are the closest, but beautiful and secluded beaches can be found further afield at Tyninghame and Seacliff.
For those with a taste for the city you have easy access to Edinburgh, only 17 miles away by car or 20 minutes by train from Longniddry. The International Festival is famous around the world, as is the accompanying Fringe Festival.
East Lothian is of course most famed for its golf. The village has two pretty golf courses of its own (Kilspindie and Craigielaw), and is three miles from Gullane, home not only to its own club courses (three), but also to Luffness and to Muirfield, host of the Open Championship. More courses are to be found at Longniddry, Archerfield and at the Glen in North Berwick.
