Situated on Grimsay Island, North Uist, Western Isles, this cosy, traditional, self-catering cottage stands in its own grounds with delightful views to loch, hill and sea. It is the perfect base from which to explore stunning white sandy beaches, machair and moorland.

Overlooking a pretty waterlily loch, named after its wild duck population (Loch nan Lach), Sealladh Eabhal was my home until I was twelve years of age. It was built by my father and grandfather circa 1955 from local stone and recently renovated keeping some of its original features and the four outer walls intact.

This comfortable accommodation comprises 2 double bedrooms [1 with ensuite toilet] and 1 twin room, living room with multi-fuel stove, fully equipped kitchen/diner, bathroom. For instant heat, there are newly installed digital electronic radiators throughout.

The kitchen opens onto a secluded patio with wild moorland views. Guests may enjoy beautiful sunsets in this tranquil space. Grimsay has very little light pollution and the cottage is in an ideal location for dark sky enthusiasts. Fabulous views of the Milky Way and the Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis can be seen from the cottage from autumn onwards.

Children over 5yrs welcome. Sorry we regret no pets and no smoking in the accommodation.

Tariff: £675 - £850. Bookings are normally from Sat - Sat and can be done by phone, email or the Freetobook link.

Shorter stays and different arrival days are available out of season. Minimum stay is 4 nights in low season.
