Fully unwind and switch into holiday mode at Shepherd’s Cottage on the beautiful Sutherland Estate, near the amazing beach at Golspie and just 1.5 miles from stunning 13th century Dunrobin Castle.
What looks like a traditional farm cottage from the outside is so much more, as this inviting retreat offers surprising amounts of space and light once guests venture inside. The sitting room’s wood-burning stove offers a warm welcome after trips out exploring the picturesque surrounding area or blowing the cobwebs away on a walk along one of the great nearby beaches.
The kitchen and dining room have been combined to create a wonderfully sociable area to eat and catch up together in. Its little window seat is a nice spot to sit with a morning cuppa and a door provides access directly to the garden.
A family bathroom is tucked away under the stairs and off the airy landing upstairs lie two attractive bedrooms, one of which is a double and the other is a twin. They are both dressed in lovely calming tones and have roof windows that show off the rural scene spread out before them.
The outdoor seating area on the patio to the rear of the house has an outlook over open hillside to the woodland beyond with steps that then lead up to the rest of the sloping grass garden.
With so much to fit into a stay at Shepherd’s Cottage, guests can rest easy in the house’s peaceful setting ready for further adventures the next day.
