Skye Coorie Cabin is an award winning self catering cabin, found in Lower Breakish, a small village at the south end of the Isle of Skye. Just three miles from Broadford with shops, restaurants and bars, the cabin is off the main road and a perfect location for exploring Skye and Lochalsh. Skye Coorie looks out over sea and mountain views with Ardnish Point and the isles of Pabay, Raasay and Scalpay seen in the Inner Sound beyond.
With an abundance of wildlife on our doorstep, guests often spot otters and seals, with waders, garden and sea birds constantly feeding out front, if you are lucky owls, bats, deer, sea eagles and the occasional dolphin can also be spotted in the area.
The cabin sits in the family garden and is close to the family home, so we are readily on hand to provide a fresh supply of veg and eggs from the garden (when available) or extra towels for the sandy beach at Ashaig, just a two minute drive from us.
Ideally suited for a couple, the cabin is self catering and the compact galley kitchen has everything a guest could need to enjoy a home cooked meal, with kettle, toaster, fridge including freezer compartment and a combination microwave/oven/grill and double hob. The kitchen comes with cutlery, crockery and utensils as well as dish soap and drying cloths. We supply a wee welcome pack of essentials (milk, tea, coffee, sugar etc) so you can at least have a cuppa on arrival.
In the cosy sitting room, guests can enjoy watching the wildlife or relax in front of the Smart Freeview tv, with Amazon Fire stick and Netflix. There are a few games and books of interest too! Free wifi is included throughout the cabin and there are multiple USB charging points.
The double bedroom has an extremely comfortable European standard double bed and an open wardrobe with shelving - as well as the duvet, there are extra blankets to ensure your toes stay super toasty. From the bedroom is the ensuite shower and toilet. All bedding and towels are included with your stay, we are also happy to wash and tumble dry clothes for you, for a modest fee.
The cabin is fully insulated but there is thermostatically controlled electric heating throughout for those winter months, so you can turn it up, or down, at the touch of a button.
As well as the indoor space, guests also have their own garden area giving direct access to the shore. Here guests can enjoy the endless views, cook on the bbq or pizza oven, or just stoke the fire pit whilst watching the sky at night. The cabin has several external sockets for your use to inflate your paddleboard or dingy, plus there is also wet weather gear storage, we are happy to stow your bicycle for you too if required.
In summer, days seem to last forever, giving ample time to watch the wildlife or take your canoe or paddle board for a spin; whilst in winter, the darkness begins early, making it just perfect for those dark skies to bring views of the milky way, aurora and infinite stars.
