Accommodation: 1 bedroom, 1 double (sleeps 4)
Smiddy Cottage is a delightful holiday cottage with a bright and homely interior, conveniently located in the village of Salen on the magical Scottish Isle of Mull.
As the name suggests, this friendly self-catering cottage was once a busy blacksmith's forge for the island's crofters and horses. Still retaining its traditional appeal, this well-presented holiday cottage offers everything you could need for a relaxing, enjoyable break. Light streams into the charming open plan sitting/dining room where the wooden block floor, rugs and comfy seating create a welcoming atmosphere. The comfortable double bedroom makes Smiddy Cottage a perfect island retreat for two while the double sofa bed in the sitting room allows the cottage to accommodate up to four.
Salen is the ideal location for those wanting to visit all corners of Mull. This charming and historical village overlooks the Sound of Mull and is set half way between the ferry terminal at Craignure and the island's main village of Tobermory. A small but stunningly beautiful road meanders its way from Salen, passing the Island of Ulva and the mighty Ben More to the west coast of Mull from where you can continue south to the village of Fionnphort and the Island of Iona.
Also available at the same location is Puffer Cottage accommodating 2 + 2 with one double bedroom plus double sofa bed.
