South Mill is an interesting conversion of a 19th century mill in a pretty courtyard setting in Trochry, near Dunkeld (3.5m).
The main open plan living accommodation is set out upstairs with a cosy wood-burning stove, balcony seating area and well-equipped kitchen. Downstairs there is a double/twin bedroom and modern bathroom and the cottage also has a little sun trap garden and plenty of parking.
Dunkeld is a well preserved historic town that is well catered for in terms of shops, eating places and a very picturesque 18 hole golf course. The Loch of the Lowes RSPB reserve (6.5m) is worth a visit to see the pair of breeding ospreys and whisky enthusiasts will enjoy a tour at the Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery (14m). Watersports such as canoeing and paddle boarding are available on Loch Tay from Kenmore (17m).
