Southtop, with its own private entrance, is the upper flat of a charming cottage in the lochside village of Kilmun. The property has been awarded 3 stars from Visit Scotland and commands lovely scenic views from every window. The Holy Loch is particularly noted for its flocks of waders, ducks and seabirds including visiting gannets who can all be observed from the windows or close up at the loch.
Pets are welcome by arrangement with the owner.
The apartment can accommodate guests all year round as it has controlled electric heating throughout and a woodburner for extra comfort and cosiness in winter. Free wifi is available for you to keep in touch with family and friends as well as providing assistance in planning your local trips.
There is one double bedroom plus a bed settee in the lounge for a further 2 guests to sleep on. A travel cot is also available for babies.
The comfortable, cosy lounge has a TV/DVD player with Freeview channels and a selection of DVD's CD's, books and board games to help you unwind after a busy day exploring the area. You could also chill out by looking out at the loch/river views from the picture window.
The heated bathroom is decorated in attractive wet wall and has a shower enclosure with electric shower.
The bedroom has built in wardrobes, high quality bedding and towels provided. There is also a nice view of Paradise Bay from the window.
The kitchen is well equipped with everything you should need for your stay and with the added bonus of relaxed dining with lovely views from the window.
There is a small pebbled area with attractive planters at the foot of the stairs. We have a table and chairs for you to sit outdoors if you wish.

Staying in the Cowal Peninsula allows you access to stunning mountains, lochs, forests and glens with a wide range of activities to suit almost everyone. These include walking, cycling, fishing, sailing, golfing bird and wildlife watching, photography and quad biking. There are also a hosts of other active pursuits on your doorstep.
For more relaxing days out there are a number of attractions which are a short car journey away. these include Benmore Botanic Gardens (with their giant Redwood trees), Inveraray Castle, Mount Stuart House, Kyles of Bute or any of the nearby lochs which are diverse and interesting. There are also many opportunities to discover the delights of the river Clyde by taking a paddle steamer trip around various scenic locations.
During the year there are many Gala Days, Highland Gatherings and musical events throughout the region and these are well worth visiting. There is also a thriving Arts and Crafts culture for you to enjoy
Southtop is available for full weeks, short breaks and long stays.
