Spitfire Cottage is a recently refurbished cottage set on a small working farm in Perthshire set in beautiful open countryside yet only 15 minutes from Dundee, 20 minutes to Perth and 60 minutes from Edinburgh Airport.
Surrounded by farmland and uninterrupted views of the Sidlaw hills, Spitfire Cottage provides comfortable accommodation for up to 5 people. Situated on a small working farm with open views to the fields beyond, immerse yourself in country living with an abundance of nature on your doorstep.
Spitfire Cottage is situated in the idyllic countryside of the Vale of Strathmore on a smallholding dating back to the post-war era, just under 2 miles from the market town of Coupar Angus. Location is a perfect balance of peaceful countryside surrounded by quaint villages, historic towns and bustling cities all within 30 minutes drive.
A walkers and cyclists paradise, we are surrounded by 40mph cycling friendly roads, with an abundance of routes of all abilities around the neighbouring roads and villages. The area is central to a vast number of golf courses ranging from championship Gleneagles, St Andrews and Carnoustie to local Rosemount, Strathmore and Alyth within a short distance. Perthshire is renowned for fishing on the ‘Silvery Tay’ with a number of sought after beats within close proximity, permits can also be bought for the nearby River Ericht and we have a superb clay shooting facility close-by at Auchterhouse. There is a thriving arts and crafts scene around the area with Perthshire Open Studios opening artists doors across September, numerous galleries and fairs throughout the year.
There are plenty of great cafes and restaurants nearby showcasing local produce, farm shops and farmers markets. Glamis Castle, Scone Palace, the Cairngorms National Park, the Cateran Trail all within half an hour drive.
