Built in a traditional Galloway style, Cnoc Glass and Cnoc Doon are identical semi-detached cottages set within their own private, enclosed gardens on this family-run working farm. The porches to the front of the cottages maximise the panoramic views over Wigtown Bay and the Galloway Hills allowing you to sit, relax and enjoy the view while the gardens also have outdoor seating and barbecues, perfect for a family get together. Inside, each of the cottages is tastefully decorated and has a double and twin bedroom, with the option of an extra bed. Both cottages also have a spacious shower room, a modern kitchen and dining room with cooker, microwave, fridge and dishwasher and a welcoming lounge that's perfect for relaxing after an energetic day exploring. There is a separate drying room with washing machine for shared use, and bed linen, heating and electricity is included in the rental charge; please note that towels are not supplied. There is also ample safe parking, a purpose-built drying room and a lockable storage unit for equipment while cots and high chairs are available on request when booking, and pets are welcome by arrangement.
Nearby, there are good local facilities, including a grocery store, post office, hardware store, an excellent local butcher and a choice of traditional pubs and excellent restaurants.
This is an ideal base for walkers and cyclists as both the National Cycle Route runs through the farm and the Southern Upland Way, Scotland's longest and most challenging walking route, is nearby. Other active options include exploring the Galloway Forest Park with its 300 square miles of beautiful green forest or taking the challenge of two of the 7stanes mountain biking centres, Glentrool and Kirroughtree.
