Built in 1898, Springburn Cottage is full of character and history – George Bernard Shaw stayed here. Situated in the Highland village of Strachur on the banks of Loch Fyne in Argyll, it’s been lovingly restored and is full of country charm. The living room has a fireplace and wooden floor and the kitchen/dining area has a beamed ceiling and a quarry-tiled floor. The bathroom and utility room are also downstairs. There’s a steep staircase to first floor where there are two double bedrooms, one with an ornamental fireplace and a sofa-bed (for +one). The cottage is in the grounds of the owners’ home, but has its own sitting-out area with marvellous views.
The cottage is just 100 metres from Loch Fyne's beach. There’s plenty to do, from walking to boating to fishing. It's also well placed to explore the rest of this lovely part of the west coast of Scotland. The local shop is one mile down the road and a pub and tennis courts are one and a half miles away.
