Springfields occupies a truly excellent position on the misty Isle of Skye, just off the Skye Bridge-Portree road, with fantastic views across Broadford Bay to the mountains beyond. It is a most convenient base for exploring not just the island itself, but also the mainland (the Skye Bridge is now toll-free), where Plockton, the Applecross peninsula and the glorious mountains of Torridon await you.
This is a traditional, detached former croft house, standing in its own extensive gardens. Inside, it has been carefully refurbished to a high specification. Electric storage heating and the wood burning stove in the sitting room make it a cosy retreat in all weathers.
The sandy beach at Ashaig is within a ten minute walk of the cottage. Nearer still is the Red Skye restaurant, while Broadford (3 miles) offers all facilities. There is a golf course at Sconser, (20m), and the area offers plenty of scope too for sailing and sea and loch fishing.
