In the small town of Innerleithen (shops, pubs) in the Tweed Valley you will find St James, a stunning conversion of an old, stone-built school hall.
Retaining its original vaulted ceiling and arched, leaded windows, it is now a light, airy and extremely spacious holiday home with an open plan living area, spiral staircase and magnificent galleried double bedroom.
The Southern Upland Way runs close by, there is a golf course on the edge of the village and several more within 10 miles, as well as riding at Peebles (6m, all facilities, leisure centre). Also on the edge of the village is a mountain biking centre with challenging forest trails. Edinburgh is just over an hour’s drive away and the ‘short cut’ through the hills to Heriot is well worth taking for the wonderful scenery alone.
