The Stableyard Apartment, as the name suggests, is located right in the heart of the old Castle Stableyard. A heartbeat from the historic 17th century Drumlanrig Castle.
The holiday apartment is newly modernised with all the features you would expect. We are sure you will have a memorable, comfortable stay for up to four guests and two dogs.
As you enter there is a large cupboard, perfect for holding the shoes, boots and coats you may need to explore the wider country estate.
You will find two beautifully furnished bedrooms. One with a king-sized bed and the other with a double bed. Both have views of the Castle turrets and Stableyard from the windows.
After a busy day exploring the South West of Scotland, the good sized separate living room is perfect for relaxing. It has two comfortable sofas, smart tv, electric fire and compact dining table and chairs.
And the brand new galley kitchen will inspire you to prepare and sample all the local produce you have found on your travels. It has integrated appliances including washing machine, fridge/freezer, electric oven and hob.
Whether you are looking for a nice soak in the bath after a busy day or a quick shower so you are raring to go, the freshly decorated bathroom will fit your needs.
With central heating throughout, and electric fire in living room, you will be nice and warm whenever you stay!
The Apartment entrance is conveniently located right next to the Castle car park, so its not far to carry bags or shopping, and is accessed via a shared entrance way. There is a bike parking and welly boot area on ground floor area which is shared with the Stableyard Studio. A staircase leads to up to the Apartment and Studio.

The Stableyard Studio and Stableyard Apartment are conveniently located next to each other making them the perfect properties for two families staying. Or perhaps grandparents in one and the parents and kids in the other
Located in such an historic setting you can immerse yourself in the history and heritage of the 17th century ‘Pink Palace’ and its surroundings. During the Summer season enjoy a Castle Tour or explore the extensive Castle Gardens.
For outdoor enthusiasts, don your walking boots and explore scenery, scents and sounds of the 90,000 acre estate. Or if you prefer exploring on two wheels, bring your own bike or hire one onsite, with world class trails and quiet estate roads, Drumlanrig is a cyclists dream.
If traditional country sports are for you, you are in the right place. Here at Drumlanrig Castle you’ll find Salmon and Sea Trout fishing in the River Nith, plus Grayling fishing in the winter. We also offer Rainbow Trout and Brown Trout fishing in our well-stocked lochs.
If walking and cycling aren’t enough to keep any little ones amused, during the summer season, the adventure playground, with 15 metre tunnel slides, giant climbing nets and a zip line are sure to keep them smiling
