Usually reserved for sporting parties and greatly in demand, Stack Lodge has spectacular views across the loch and mountains as well as a gorgeous interior. Open fires, history and a housekeeper marry together to give you the best of Highland hospitality. The house comes complete with a housekeeper/cook. One of the most beautiful of Scottish estates sitting amidst environmentally designated areas, the Reay Forest can arrange for photographic safaris, hill loch fishing or a day on the loch if wanted. Salmon fishing on the River Laxford is by arrangement and at extra cost.
History, classical charm, top class presentation and just straightforward luxury make Stack Lodge a particularly special place to stay. Add to that one of the best views in Scotland and you start to understand the magic of this place.
Stack Lodge sits surrounded by the mountains of Stack, Foinavon and Arkle with views up the length of Loch Stack. It sits amidst the imposing landscape of the Northwest Highland Geopark where eagles, deer, otters and most other Scottish wildlife are present. You can walk for miles and miles and nearby there are beaches and landscapes of world class.
Inside the lodge you can relax by a roaring log fire whilst absorbing the history of the lodge. Additional seating areas allow a break away space for everyone whilst the spacious kitchen and dining room are perfect for social evenings. The bedrooms are nearly all en-suite with the most comfortable beds and linens you could wish for. Curl up at night where the only noise you will hear is an owl or a roaring stag in the autumn. Additional practicalities like drying rooms and Wi-fi bring every facility you could need.
This is a particularly lovely house – gracious yet welcoming and you can enjoy trout fishing on the estate in season as well as a flavour of the best of Highland Scotland life. The River Laxford runs past the Lodge where you might catch a glimpse of a salmon leaping or a majestic red deer stag grazing peacefully on the lawn. There is the added bonus of 2 hours housekeeping a day. It is ideal for special family occasions or business hideaways.
This is one of Scotland’s most beautiful areas and most charming lodges and makes a wonderful holiday destination for anyone who appreciates tradition, understated luxury and fantastic landscapes.
If you were to conjure up a perfect Scottish Highlands Lodge complete with charm, tradition, style, luxury and surroundings that will take your breath away – then this is as good as it gets.
